Seeing as its mental health week, I thought there isn't a better time to write about it! Just a heads up, this is all my own views and thoughts, not generalised (although im sure you'll agree with what I have to say).
We live in a world where we never feel good enough, we're constantly striving to get better at one thing or another, wether that be down to the way we look or the challenges we set ourselves - we never seem to be happy and just always want more. In all this, we often forget to look back at how far we have come because we're too busy thinking about the next thing we want. Im not saying for one minute we shouldn't be setting ourselves goals, but what I am saying is that its important to think about what you have achieved - look back - and give yourself a pat on the back. Im sure if you do this, you'll feel proud of yourself. Wether we like it or not, we live in a overindulged generation with social media, theres always someone doing something you wish you were doing or looking a certain way you've always dreamed of.
Its important to think about what you have achieved - look back - and give yourself a pat on the back. Im sure if you do this, you'll feel proud of yourself.
Social media has this huge power to create an idilic world we all wish for, but the reality is, thats not reality. I'll be the first to admit that when you look through my instagram page, life looks great - but what you don't see are the bad days (and believe me, there are plenty of those). I think its important that we don't get too caught up in this and remember that life isn't perfect and there will be ups and downs!

Its all become obsessive and destructive to our mental health - because we have let it. If we can all start worrying less about other people and more about ourselves, I strongly feel like the world will be a much happier and less competitive place to be. Personally, I have found that culling all the Victoria Secret angles off my instagram feed and having more real people to follow is much better for my mindset. I love nothing more than a blogger that is REAL, because there are so many that aren't. I love the bloggers that post about the good and bad things - this makes me feel normal! At the end of the day we are all only human and when we can relate to someone that has the same thoughts as us, or has been through a similar experience, it takes away the feeling of being alone.
My advice to you - focus on you.
Stop worrying about what everyone else things, put yourself first and keep being the best version of yourself. At the end of the day, thats how your friends and family want to see you - who cares what anyone else thinks?
